I am always in admiration when I see women (a young adult or older) doing something different,

(the different is from what she has done before or differnt from what others do)

and / or women scaling heights.

(I am not saying scaling great heights because every height she scales is a great height at the time she scales it:-))

I initially used to think that there is a feminist angle to it, to my thinking process,

There was, because when I hear of a woman doing something different,

or scaling heights, my reaction would be with a ‘yessss 6+ Hundred Bicep Emoji Royalty-Free Images, Stock Photos ...‘.

Both the ‘yessss and the 6+ Hundred Bicep Emoji Royalty-Free Images, Stock Photos ...‘, would be with a lot of josh.

It was also a thought of yesss, women can do as much as a man does, if not more.

As I grew older, I realised,

that the admiration remained but the understanding became different.

The yayy and 6+ Hundred Bicep Emoji Royalty-Free Images, Stock Photos ... became ‘wow and whoa’ with lesser josh but with the same joy!!

What changed?

I ‘grew up’ emotionally and thoughtfully.

The external world can be pointed fingers at, and perhaps justifiedly so,

for reasons why a woman doesn’t receive the same opportunities as a man,

but is it always the external world who is to be pointed at?

The reasons why a woman doesn’t scale heights or do different things,

can be due to the woman herself.

The reasons could be many ranging from,

Less confidence in herself? Low self-esteem?

Know what to upskill but not how to?

Wants to push the boundary and the envelope but caught in a myriad of conflicts?

There is one foot inside and one foot outside the door,

and the feet are playing see-saw with one another.

The only person who knows to push the boundary and envelope is the woman herself,

because only she knows when to, how to and why to,

When she does, it is at the right time and right place for her,

How to is when the support system also knows that they need to rally around,

Why to, are reasons known only to her.

At the end of the day, it is she and she alone who determines,

scaling heights or doing something different,

and when she does, there is nothing stopping her.

That’s when the world sees her

– driving an auto or truck or a bus

– running an organization

– being a delivery person of Uber eats / Zepto / Big Basket

– becoming the Chief Minister / Prime Minister / President of a state or country

– working in the service front at a petrol bunk / hotel / show room

– taking leadership roles in the family / workspace.

and many many more

When she takes the power of her life in her hands,

she grows up, emotionally and socially.

The range of what she can do is deeper and wider,

contributing to the world she calls her own,

with she being the sun, shining brightly and radiantly,

shining for her to march on,

radiating enough heat to charge herself, in her journey called life,

Her Life!!!
