A walk in Lalbagh,

lent a short period of time to witness a conversation.

A conversation amongst a group of six,

which seemed so fascinating to see, it was hard not to take a click.

They were either standing or sitting in two’s,

as though making three sides of a square.

They were talking, laughing

and gesticulating so very effusively.

Some were smiling with their face,

and some were doubling up with their laughter.

Crossing them and moving past a few steps,

the seat to sit was a ledge in the pathway.

It was so hard to look ahead,

as their energy was drawing my attention.

I looked back at them every few seconds from where I sat,

and would turn back  to look ahead, in order not to be caught staring.

Their laughter wasn’t heard,

and their converstaion was in their gesticulation.

About to leave the place, I was tempted to walk over,

to tell them that it was a joy to feel their laughter and happy conversation.

I asked myself, “Would I have told them if I heard their talk and laughter?”

Am I glad my answer to myself was a “No”!!

By telling them, I may have conveyed that they are different,

Inclusion is all about letting people be as they are!!!
