This was a design for a jewellery that caught my eye, a few years back

something about this design drew me to it,

and I thought this was out of my mind,

until I saw this design once again.

It caught my attention yet again,

and this time stayed.

As I kept looking at it, two statements I have heard flashed in my mind,

one is a well known one –

life is a circle,

the other is one that a close friend would say –

life is a spiral and you are at times in the same point, but at a different level.

Suddenly a statement flashed in my mind,

Life is a journey where the point of start isn’t a start really,

is there an end, because there is no full stop.

nor is there a comma,

there could be an exclamation mark because life is certainly a miracle!

There could be a few dots that signifies that it moves on…

or it could be a question mark, which seek answers?

The punctuation mark that I want to keep,

is dependent on how I look at life, in this moment. , ! … ?

As I thought of the design and drew it on a page,

it took different forms and shapes.

The lines of the design didn’t meet,

because to me, life isn’t really a circle,

as when it is, it becomes closed.

Life is open for me to create the form and shape,

that I want to, at different phases of my journey.

I may travel long in one path and suddenly,

situations change and I change my path.

There are times when I feel the space around me to be wide and big,

there are times when I feel I am in a narrow and constricted space.

People I journey with also come with their own shapes and forms,

they may overlap and blend,

they may make their own parallel tracks and make their own journey alongside,

or they may blend but move on differently,

Such is life!!

My eyes kept moving back to the design,

it left a lasting impact and lesson.

‘Keep your view of life open,

as you journey on in life, open yourself to the changing paths,

the twists and turns and edges and straight lines.

Flow with it and move with it,

you are the only person who has, is and will be a constant in your journey.

Enjoy the solo ride,

remember you are creating your own unique ride,

that has infinite possibilities!!’
