Since a few years now, every Friday morning is breakfast time with ‘me and myself’ – at a hotel near my house. What I order for, has been the same over the years, with an odd change once in a while. The spot where I stand and eat has also been the same because I love that spot. It overlooks the road and a temple on the other side; and I spend a minimum of a good fifteen minutes having my breakfast.

This is my me and my time.

I eat slowly, relish the idlis and the vadas or the masala dosa and the tea.

My mobile phone is tucked away in my bag, having its own me and my time 🙂

Given the surgery and recuperation, in the last few months, I have missed this me and my time; and was delighted to resume it today. You never know what you are missing till you get it back 🙂

It was time for me to observe my actions and my thinking, during this ‘me and my time’.

The supreme power inside the temple is one, I would have a monologue with, on many a Friday. It is a silent monologue and oh, I would love it everytime.  Not that I look for a solution or a clarity to emerge, when I have the monologue; if a solution or clarity emerges, lucky me!! If it doesn’t, it’s a vent out!! Today was some minutes of expressing gratitude of being able to resume my Friday breakfast with myself 🙂

It was interesting to observe my thinking today, as I observed the happenings on the road.

There were happenings on the road to which my mind would sometimes have a loudly silent (oxymoron indeed!!) statement to make; some happenings which would draw a smile and / or a phrase..

A snippet of what happened today.. (What’s in bold is the statement or what drew the smile and phrase is italisized)

– A man taking a piece of paper from his pocket and dropped it on the road – Oh man, take  it home and drop it in the garbage can in your house. Will you throw like this when you travel abroad? No, isn’t it? Why here then?

– A lady riding her bike in the wrong direction of the road and with no helmet – You are putting your life at risk and that of others. What are you modeling to your children and other children on the road?  (This was most certainly the educator in me talking:-))

– A young boy riding his cycle and with his helmet on – Whoa!! Proud of you😊

– A dog with socks in all its four paws – Acho, why!! ☹

– A few women walking out from a Yoga class with a smile on their face -😊

– A man standing across the road, looking at a temple and offering his prayer – May your prayers come true!! 😊

Well, it was time to leave and I did, with a pep in my step, awaiting the next Friday!!

To the reader of this blog, here are some questions..

Have you had a meal with ‘you and yourself’?

Do you do it regularly?

Have you observed your thoughts at that time?

Do share your response to the questions in the comment section on the blog page!! Would love to hear and read them.

We always yearn to have a meal with a person we have a great relationship with, a person who we want to network with, a person we admire and is an inspiration!!

Well, it should be ‘me and myself’ isn’t it? Can’t be a better person than that!!
