Nature fascinates me, each time and every time. While every thing around us every day is nature – both the animate and the inanimate, when I am left amidst unbounded land or water or mountains, my fascination grows leaps and bounds.
Is there a supreme power who creates all of us or is it nature who manifests in various forms? Questions that have no answers and it is good that they don’t. Makes nature even more beautiful.
This small, brown and black bird was so cutely flying here and there, on the lawn. There was a squirrel with a really bushy tail (couldn’t capture a picture of the squirrel as it moved really quick). Both the bird and the squirrel were feasting the grass, close to one another, with neither disturbing the other. Truly amazing!!
A bear and a few crows staying close to one another, each one minding their own business. The crows certainly weren’t thinking that they are small as compared to the bear. The bear not running to scare the crows away. Sometimes it is good to have just five senses I guess!! You live life the way it needs to be lived.
There is a sequence to these three pictures. Each one was a few hours apart from one another. For someone who has never experienced the sight of snow, seeing a small patch of it on a mountain peak gave immense pleasure. A little distance away, it was snow flakes raining on the window shield. Ah!! This was another sight. A few hours later, this was another peak or the same one, I am not sure – completely covered with snow. If the mountain was regal, the snow was like the icing on the mountain, lending its own beauty. I couldn’t help but remark, “Snow has arrived to greet the visiting queen.” 🙂 The queen greeting the snow with absolute wonder and pleasure!! What a joyful meet and greet this was!!
Small is big and big is small – both are the same. Depends on the height from which we look at it. This river looked like a small puddle when seen from many many many feet above. As she flows further between two huge rocks, she pushes her way thru as a rapid. Some miles away she seems to flow ever so serenely, meandering her way forward. She looked so so amazing in her turquoise blue colour. It was so hard to take my eyes off her. It is said that without her, there would be no rock formations. Can’t say who looks more beautiful – the river or the rock formations!! Reinforces the adage that ‘No man is an island’. For one to exist, another is needed.
Despite taking many pictures of the rock formations around, not one seemed to reflect the beauty of these them. Beautiful to look to the naked eye but the camera is a poor substitute. The hues in the rock formations, the colur changes based on the reflection of sunlight, the angle in which one sees the rock formation etc etc etc.. So many millions of years it would have taken for these formations to happen. Change takes time – be it in a rock or a human; and sometimes the time taken could be years or lives :-)..
Seeing this reminded me of the saying – The road less travelled. No one in sight, the terrain is rocky and so is the path. Not many take the path but when the top is reached, is when you realise that the view is beautiful and so is the unique experience. Sometimes alone.. sometimes lonely.. sometimes.. sometimes.. sometimes..
Cacti – such a fascinating plant!! Thorny all over and ends with a flower. So much like life!!! Sometimes thorny and sometimes flowery. Each one beautiful in its own way!!
What a fitting end to the blog – with a water body.. Flowing softly and at times waves crashing into one another and then suddenly breaking into a huge fall. At the start of the fall, she is slightly noisy and when she drops, she roars loud but falls like a soft cotton wool. She seemed beautiful at times and threatening at times. The splashes of drops of water when she makes her fall, are so pleasant on the skin – suddenly there is a feeling of being refreshed. What a paradox!!!
We are all like this waterfall – flowing softly at times, crashing and dashing physically and mentally with another, slightly noisy at times, roaring and fierce like a lion(ess) at another and at the heart, soft and soft.. We go around the obstacles or sometimes, jump over them. We generate our own charge that is electric and magnetic, charging and attracting / repeling others. We touch the lives of many.. Some see us as beautiful from the inside.. some see us as threatening from the outside.
Does it matter how who see us as? We stay like the waterfall, true to its nature.
Nature is beautiful and so are we!!! Let’s celebrate nature and ourselves!!
Beauty is in the mirror you look everyday. Enjoy the being!!!
