Water – this element has the power to move me, always. I go on a deep thinking mode when I am around this element – be it the waves touching my feet or just sitting near a huge expanse of water.
This is a picturesque blog, in its own way; each picture of water has a caption to it – of how an individual is like water, in various facets of life!! There is no order to these pictures and their captions. Each one is independent of the other but connected.. to an individual.
Take them as they come and be with the flow (no pun intended!!) π
Each one of us wear many many different colours within us – different colours and different shades of these colours. From afar, we appear to be a particular shade but just like water, come close and we appear of different shade. If we can accept shades in water, why not that in each individual?

What we see of an individual is only a peek to them. We make our own judgments and assumptions based on what we see. There is more to it than what meets the eye. Are we willing to expand our horizon?

When we see the same individual from two different positions, they appear different and yet the same!! To get that extra peek, we need to be willing to position ourselves in different spaces, isn’t it? And that needs effort and time from us. How willing are we to put in that effort and be in different spaces, to do that?Β

Oh well!! This is just like the time when as individuals we are so excited, bubbly, crackling with energy and that energy is infectious certainly!! This energy splash is such a joy to experience and also to see it being experienced by others, ain’t it?

Some of us take a while to show an emotion / reaction.. It isn’t that the emotion or reaction isn’t there. It would be there but the person appears calm and composed. Remember, each of us is a swell of water. Just like the quiet water suddenly breaking into a wave, we also break into a reaction and / or show an emotion..

Ah, the impact we leave in those we meet!! Can be as fleeting as the light step we take on the sand. The next wave of water may just erase the impact we have left. Though until the next wave arrives, the impact we have left, may very well be a catalyst for a change!! Such is life!!

This can be looked at in two perspectives 1. That we can dig ourselves so deep into the situation we are in, that stepping out of it is a marathon of an ask. 2. On the other hand, the impact that we have left on the others, is so so so deep that it leaves a dent or a space that is so tough to heal or to fill, respectively. Life is two sides to a coin.

At any point in time, we seem to be racing against time or sometimes appear to be racing with another. Sometimes at par, sometimes more, sometimes less. No wave is the same and none of us are too. Every wave breaks differently and so do we.. Every wave goes a little forward or halts much before, just like us!!

How many of us are the docks for how many others!! How many others are the docks for how many of us!! The water is calm and so is the boat!! What we feel is what we reflect!! What we reflect is what is echoed!!

Sometimes the refuge we offer is the shelter that someone needs!! Just as the boat leaves the shelter when it is ready, people who take shelter also leave.. Let go because that will allow more boats to come in..
Life is such a beauty that it offers learning in every element of itself!! To live every moment is to live life in its beauty!! That makes each of us also beautiful, isn;t it?
Life is beautiful and so are each of us!!

What it revealed is the patient work of a rasika, the musings of a philosopher, a psychologist at work and a photography enthusiast with an eye for detail.
A visual treat watching again and again.ππ

Very very poignant thoughts and reflections. There’s nothing more soothing than sitting on a beach or on a waterfront watching the roles, waves, the swell and ebb, the surf and tranquility, the crests and troughs. Your captions are so beautiful. As lovely and reflective as the pictures themselves!

Thanks much for taking time out to read the blog, Rukmani. As I was watching the waves break, I was thinking of the crests and troughs as well.. coincidental to seeing you mention the crests and troughs. Though as Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati would say – there are no coincidences in life π
